New Devotions Available
Download The Armor of God Devotion Booklet now! This book contains 7 devotions written by The Lutheran Hour speaker Rev. Kenneth R. Klaus. There is also a section of prayers for LAMP teams, staff, and the communities receiving ministry.

"The Armor of God Devotion Booklet" will be used by volunteers and their prayer partners this summer. However, this book is also intended to minister to individuals, women's and men's groups, churches, and others who have a heart for missions in remote areas of northern Canada. Groups and individuals are encouraged to download a copy for duplication from our website. A limited number of hard copies are available

VBS Groups Support LAMP through Fueling the Mission Program
Many Sunday School and Vacation Bible School groups are supporting LAMP for their summer mission project. You can join, too,  by requesting LAMP's Fueling the Mission materials. Along with the DVD, leaders will receive activity sheets, a map, and a fuel chart which helps track students' progress as they save pennies to help with the costs of aviation fuel. Students also become actively engaged in the ministry as they pray for people in the communities. It is our prayer that God will use these materials touch children's hearts, and raise up a new generation of missionaries!
Word from the Field - Al Anderson
I had just returned from several days of flying into Manitoba, when an article from the Winnipeg Free Press caught my eye. It was about the community of Shamattawa. I remembered that LAMP had not provided a VBS in that village for several years.  Mental health workers there have begged the government for help because of the extraordinarily high number of attempted and threatened suicides. Since January, 47 people attempted suicide, the youngest being a 9-year old child.

I knew I had nothing scheduled for the following day. Interestingly, at the last minute I had put 100 copies of the New Testament and 25 copies of "The Story of Jesus for Children" DVD onto the plane. Now I wondered, did God want me to step out in faith and try to connect with the leaders in Shamattawa?

I must admit, I had little faith that a visit could be set up in such a short amount of time.  However, God had other plans. Not only was I able to give each student and staff member at the school a copy of the New Testament, but with the help of the contact person, a DVD was distributed to each family unit represented. Please pray with us, as we now plan to send a VBS team into Shamattawa this year, that God would continue to open the children's hearts and help them understand how much He loves them. Pray that the light of Jesus will break through the darkness in that community.
Pray for Teams, Communities
Approximately 50 teams will be traveling during the months of June through August into remote areas of northern Canada to teach VBS, lead Christian Sports Ministry, and work with adults in communities. These volunteers need your prayers!

For a list of teams by date, including the team leader's name, what city the team is from, and the community where they will be working, click here. This listing can be used with the Armor of God Devotion book, which includes written prayers for things such as safe travel, children's and youth ministry, etc.  Become a LAMP Prayer Supporter today!  To be added to our e-prayer support list, click here.
A Light for Your Path
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."  Joshua 1:9

This scripture verse was shared at the recent Canadian banquet by Rev. Bill Ney, President of the Board of Directors. It summed up the prevailing theme at the banquet, and I believe it is God's powerful word to us for 2008. Whatever work we do through LAMP, we must remember that it's not us that accomplishes the work, but God. How freeing this is! It's not up to me, or you, or anyone else! Besides, the God of the universe is by our side.

"Father, please pour out Your Spirit on us,  Your people, and enable us to  share the love of Jesus Christ to the very ends of the earth. In His Name, Amen."

Be blessed!
